    Current Rule

    2. A unit will be promoted to the next higher classification of competition if their composite score and 3 of 5 judges assign that unit a score that is equal to or greater than the designated reclassification score for the week. The effect of the reclassification is notification by the Judges’ Coordinator and/or Contest Director at Critique or via email by 11:59 pm on Sunday following the contest.

    Proposed Change

    2. Any group on Reg B or Sch B will be reclassified based on a promotion score that will be published on the website by the Judges Coordinator. Units in Reg A or Sch A will be promoted to the next higher classification if their composite score and 3 of the 5 judges assign that unit a score that is equal or greater than the designated reclassification score for the week. The effect of the reclassification is notification by the Judges’ Coordinator and/or Contest Director at Critique or via email by 11:59 pm on Sunday following the contest.

    Rationale

This update provides a clearer, more predictable path for reclassification in lower-level classes (Reg B/Sch B) by using transparently published promotion scores, while maintaining the rigorous multi-judge criteria for higher-level classes (Reg A/Sch A) to ensure competitive equity. Note: this will updated on the website as well
